PRIORITIES
  • Strengthen constituent services in all areas of District 1

  • Amplify the voices of those who have disengaged from our government processes, strengthen our communities and ensure priorities, values, laws, and services produce results that are just and equitable to all Baltimore County residents and future generations.

  • Problem-solve multi-generational, persistent systemic issues much of which is rooted in the legacy of racism, impacts the delivery of services and reinforces inequities between communities

  • Ensure our budgetary priorities and contracted services are producing the desired results and Baltimore County staff have what they need to be successful. 

Economic Development & Revitalization

  • Ensuring the redevelopment of Security Square Mall and other areas throughout District One in need of revitalization.

  • Improve accessibility and expand opportunities for assisted transportation and other services, including respite care, to ensure older adults and people living with disabilities are able to live independently in the community for as long as possible.

  • Instituting a full audit of Baltimore County code and zoning laws, practices, designations and implementation throughout the county and District One.
  • Supporting the establishment of the West Baltimore County Redevelopment Authority and smart, sustainable redevelopment focused on revitalizing deteriorated infrastructure.
Improving Our Environment 
  • Reducing blight, litter, rat activity and illegal dumping throughout Baltimore County and District One.
  • Stopping deforestation, and increasing green spaces, streetscaping and the walkability of communities.
  • Ensuring the agencies have resources needed to implement the duties of Baltimore County Code Article 13: Public Health, Safety and the Environment to hold negligent property owners accountable.
Education
  • Supporting the Kirwin Blueprint for Maryland's future while implementing a system of accountability to ensure its success.
  • Building the capacity of local Parent Teacher Associations with low parental engagement and developing volunteer programs that support teachers and students in the classroom and afterschool.
Public Safety & Prison Reform   
  • Advancing a holistic, proactive public safety agenda centered around community policing, and recognizes the role of each government agency, local business owner, community partner, resident and guest to ensure crime reduction & prevention.
  • Ensuring prison system is centered around the therapeutic rehabilitation and safety of incarcerated individuals and staff.
